Work Experience and Volunteering
We regularly recruit community volunteers to come and support our work, whether within Youth Theatre groups or on particular pieces of project work. Volunteers with Minerva can engage with face to face work with young people, marketing, technical support, project development or fundraising and can choose to engage over a long term or over a set period of time.
We also advertise our volunteering opportunities with Chester Voluntary Action, CVS Cheshire East and the University of Chester.
We work with a range of partners to offer for experience placements to young people and students.
We can offer:
*Year 10 work experience. We work with Mploy Solutions as a regular provider of Year 10 work experience but are also open to other approaches from schools and parents. Placements are usually one or two weeks and involve supporting our work from a 'behind the scenes' position, learning about how we operate as a small arts and cultural charity.
*Further Education placements. We offer work experience placements for students at Cheshire College South and West. Placements are flexible and can involve work on any aspect of Minerva programme activity.
*University work-based learning placements. We have been a provider of work based learning at the University of Chester since 2014, taking on two students per year on five week placements. During this placement, students get involved in learning about facilitation skills, project management, fundraising and marketing.
